Lee County Council on Aging studies and serves the needs of the Senior (60+) population in Lee County and provides services to better allow these people to live independently. Outreach programs such as Medicare advice and prescription drug planning, as well as tax relief, license fee reduction and more help seniors afford to live independently. Additionally, support is given to caregivers for older parents and relatives and for the rising number of Grandparents raising Grandchildren. Our programs link these individuals to state and local programs that can assist them. We also supply ample social activities and have many programs such as nutritious lunches, blood pressure and health clinics and other educational programs. LCCOA is a public transportation provider for all residents of Lee County, providing resources to allow residents to meet their medical, employment, educational, domestic and social needs in the absence of other means of transportation. This, in turn, prevents isolation and promotes independence. Our agency is open from 8:00 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, with Public Transportation provided from 7:00 AM 4:00 PM M-F.
