Kurt is a lifelong resident of Whiteside County and has lived in Sterling since 1988. He is married to Roxanne, and together they have five children: Samantha, Derek, Sydney, Rayce and Danielle (deceased). Kurt grew up in rural Lyndon and attended and graduated from Prophetstown High School in 1985. He received an Associate's Degree in Technology – Highway Engineering Technology from Morrison Institute of Technology in 1987. He was employed in the highway engineering field from January 1987 until retiring in December 2020. Kurt Glazier 31.5 years employed by the Illinois Department of Transportation, District 2 in Dixon – 1989-2020. Worked in the Traffic Operations Section (traffic engineering) from 1993 until his retirement. Part-time snow plow driver for Sterling Township, 2017-Present. Surveyor at Willett, Hofmann and Associates, 1987-1989. Whiteside County Board Member, District 1, December 2010-Present. Sterling-Rock Falls Jaycees, 1997-2008. All board positions held, including the office of President in 2003 and 2006. Sterling Little League Girls Softball Board Member and Coach, 2005-2009. Sterling Optimist Club Member, 2013-Present. St. Peter Lutheran Church Board Member for eight years. Sons of American Legion Member – Sterling Post 296. Kurt's Mission Statement I must, and will, take into consideration the comments, concerns and opinions of every resident about what they would like to see happen with regard to how we manage our community’s public infrastructure and maximize the services to our business owners and residents from the tax monies received from those business owners and residents from within Sterling Township.
