? We Live In Uncertain Times ? In fact, we always have. There is nothing certain about life. All through the history of the world there has been uncertainty, whether from the threat of wars, economic collapse, natural disasters, or disease such as we face now. Mankind would like to believe that by their intellect they are able to control the things that happen on this planet. However, there is much evidence of the contrary, take for example the smartest doctors who die from cancer or the best businessmen losing millions in value from the recent collapse in stock values, or the terrorist attacks that kill hundreds or the mass shootings that take place around the nation. We have no guarantee that tomorrow will be like today. I could be killed in my car as I go to the grocery store, or die quickly from an aneurism, someone could break into my home or steal my identity. Mankind has little to no solution or cure for the problems that plague this planet from the Sauk Valley to the swamps of Congo and cause sickness, heartache, and despair. However, since the creation of the world, "God's Word" has remained certain. What God said in the Garden of Eden is still having consequences today, "Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat, but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." What he told Noah did come to pass and we can see the evidence of this all around us, And behold I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh; and everything that is in the earth shall die." So also is His promise "That whosoever believeth on Him (Jesus) should not perish but have everlasting life". Through the sacrifice of Jesus man can have certainty of life. Only until we recognize God, accept Christ as our savior, are filled with the power of the Holy Ghost, and obey the commands of our Lord, can we overcome the "virus" of sin, break loose from the chains of drugs, anger, fighting, resentment, despair, and fear of the future and cling to God's promise. "Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life and may enter in through the gates into the city".
