What Does God Mean to You? We hear the word "God" spoken frequently, and see it written all about us. It's a word that America is very familiar with, since the founding days of our country. Sadly, though, it's more often used as a by-word than as a term of respect. Is God only a word to you? Only a name, an emergency plan, or last resort when we have run out of other resources? Or is He a real being that sees your daily life and cares about what is happening to you? When was the last time you considered who God is? Do you believe in Him? God created you and me. The theory of Evolution has tried to deny this fact for many years. This theory attempts to answer the questions "Who are we?" and "Where did we come from?" But one basic question Evolution fails to answer is this: "Where am I going?" "What will happen when we die?" God knows. God's Word tells us: "And it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement." (Hebrews 9:27) God created us for a special reason. He desires that every human being, of every race, nation, and time period have a personal relationship with Him. He gave us a void in our souls that only He can fill. Only God can solve the problems that we find ourselves in. But more importantly, only God can save us from our sin and eternal judgement. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) Do you wonder where to turn in the middle of all the chaos and depravity that grips our country? "Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you." (James 4:8) God wants you! He needs you! He will answer if you call out to Him. Study your Bible, find someone to discuss it with, and take courage, because God gives you a reason to live!
